Murakami in Versailles

Japanese artist Takashi Murakami has filled 15 rooms at the Palace of Versailles with his first major retrospective in France.
Murakami ties the past to the future by placing bizarre brightly-coloured creatures in ornately decorated stately rooms. The show will be running until 12 December 2010.
What do you think ?
I am a fan of his work, but using Versailles as an exhibition place for this kind of work feels sinister. Nevertheless, this is the essence of a collection, putting works in a dialogue and in this perspective the result must be very interesting. A perceptual challenge indeed.
On the other hand i just think :
People, have fun with this, and don’t take yourselves sooooooooo seriously. I know Marie Antoinette would love it :)
