On our first night in Paris , I decided to taking my boyfriend for a real french food dinner. Who better than my dad could tell us where to go ! My dear dad recommended "Au Petit Riche", a really old french brasserie, with authentic french food.
Now here is a daring
little restaurant… Au Petit Riche has been seen on the corner of the rue
Le Peletier and the rue Rossini since… 1854!
The passing years have
brought a series of events, fires and architectural novelties, but this
establishment is still here, allowing a chic bistro tradition to live
on!
Coachmen, stage hands and Opera employees have left, and the restaurant is now home to the many regulars of this business neighbourhood. Not far from the Grands Boulevards, Au Petit Riche now attracts bourgeois customers, politicians, actors, Opera dansers, the Drouot people, bankers…
The décor is warm and friendly, a series of very welcoming small dining rooms, where brass and velvet dominate, with engraved mirrors and hat racks.

The service is also traditional, and the memories of Maurice Chevalier and Mistinguett
set the tone for a festive restaurant where you can come late
and be served after-show dinner!
The Chef has worked here for
twenty years now, and he wished to compose an ideal gourmet
menu that would be a discovery of his specialties, with many
choices and surprises for demanding taste buds… A very good
idea at Au Petit Riche!
I decided to take initiatives (as always! Well I am a french women , can do you expect !) and ordered for us both!
When you live in Asia , a TRUE French baguette is so deeply missed! Well, except if you go to Robuchon ! This bread was fresh out of the oven ! So good and crispy.
For starter I took a half lobster salad and tomato with with vegetable remoulade (22.9 euros)
Marinated Salmon with dill 13.4 euros
Poached haddock with seafood and butter sauce (18.8 euros)
Beef tartare served with salad and french fries (18.8 euros)
Cheese platter (10.2 euros)
