Carine Roitfeld for W Magazine October 2011: The One and Only

Nearly a year after her departure as editor in chief of French Vogue, Carine Roitfeld is as busy as ever. Here she is for W Magazine October 2011 Looking smoking hot !
Which fashionista never wished she could  look like THE Roitfeld?
She inspired many of the ladies from our generation and gave birth to a new generation the Alt Generation !
I can feel her influence on my day to day style.
Let see , today I am rocking a leather pants , some beige suede pumps , a casual Isabel Marant sweater and I of course have my mid length loose chestnut hair, vintage jewelery and little make up (except a bit of dark liner and mascara)
Yes! I am a result of the Roitfeld influence ! AND PROUD TO BE !

Number one of my MUST BUY list :Tom Ford x Carine Roitfeld Carine Bag

Fashion icon of the last ten years and ex editor of the French Vogue, Carine Roitfeld once again collaborates with the famous Texan designer Tom Ford. They launched for fall-winter 2011-2012 the“Carine” bag. It’s signature hardware is the “shackle” closure, reference to the porno-chic that Tom Ford is the initiator and the hand-stitched leather covered chain.  It’s a semi-structured shoulder bag with an internal zip pocket and is offered in a variety of materials, all of them specially developed for Tom Ford, such as shiny alligator, python, goat skin, nappa leather, patent, or suede.  The “Carine” is a style that will be continued within the Tom Ford accessories collection and will be reinterpreted and adapted according to the mood of the season

Official Cover of 'Carine Roitfeld: Irreverent' Book

OK , now I am seriously getting excited about this ! A book describing Miss Roitfeld's career , her life and style !

"Carine, and her vision of French Vogue, embodies all that the world likes to think of as Parisian style: a sense of chic that's impeccable and sometimes idiosyncratic and which forever lives on a moonlit street as seen through the lens of Helmut Newton."--Anna Wintour
Karl Lagerfeld once said that if you close your eyes and imagine the ideal French woman, it would be Carine Roitfeld. She is a fashion visionary and a muse. Since the start of her career in the early 1990s, through her collaborations with the legendary photographer Mario Testino, Roitfeld has been credited with launching Tom Ford's career at Gucci, as well as turning French Vogue into one of the industry's most worshipped magazines.

This elegant volume is a visual history of Roitfeld's fearless career. A daring instigator, she is known for pushing the limits with her subversive styling ideas. Featuring a selection of 250 magazine tear sheets and covers from pivotal editorial shoots and advertising campaigns, as well as intimate visual ephemera, this book gives an inside view into Roitfeld's creative thought process and sensibility. A must-have for those interested in cutting-edge fashion and femininity, this book will empower women to follow Roitfeld's lead and take risks with their personal style.
I am definitely gonna get one for myself plus a few extra for my BFFs !
LOVE IT

It and Miss of the Amfar red carpet...Who wore your favorite look at the Amfar event in France

Naomi in Givenchy : Gorgeous...

Kirsten Dunst in Chanel - It’s pretty but a bit washed out.

Carine Roitfeld in Givenchy with Kanye West

Gwen Stefani in L.A.M.B.

Donatella being Stunning in her own design

Courtney Love in Givenchy with Unkle Karl!

It’s kind of her thing to take couture and make it work for her in a sloppy rock chick kind of way. Sometimes it works; sometimes it doesn’t. This almost works but we hate that the only bit of color was removed. It’s a more interesting dress with the shoulders.

Clemence Poesy
Brooke Shields in Marchesa
WHAT is going ON with that HAIR? Never mind the dress, which looks awful on her; we can’t take our eyes off that thing on her head. What was her stylist thinking?

Marchesa Spring 2011 Collection/Model: Palloma Dreher

A few nights ago, amfAR hosted their annual “Cinema Against AIDS” gala during the 64th Annual Cannes Film Festival. A special tribute was paid to the late Elizabeth Taylor and her acclaimed life on screen.

This year’s a-list attendees included Kirtsten Dunst looking fabulous in Chanel Couture, Clemence Posey, Gavin Rossdale and Gwen Stefani, Courtney Love and Karl Lagerfeld and Naomi Campbell.

Seriously, we don’t know what happened here. Maybe they’re all scraping the bottom of their luggage because they’ve worn all the good dresses to the festival already.

We just love Gwen Stefani and Donatella's dress (we are not talking about her hairstyle here! )

Tisci to Dior, Ackermann to Givenchy, Slimane to YSL

Clearly the only thing anyone in Paris is talking about this week is John Galliano, and who will replace him at Dior.

The latest gossip goes something like this: Riccardo Tisci will indeed replace Galliano at Christian Dior, Haider Ackermann will slip into Tisci’s spot at Givenchy, and despite YSL’s vehement denial otherwise, Hedi Slimane is about to take over for Stefano Pilati. Oh, and yes, Carine Roitfeld is coming along for the ride. What’s more, if Ackermann is out of the running at Chanel, does that mean its Alber Elbaz’s when Karl purportedly retires in 2012?

We’ve heard all of this before, so who knows what will actually happen. But one thing’s for sure, Galliano’s ousting has changed the face of Paris fashion forever

And the New editor in Chief of Vogue Paris is...................

Emmanuelle Alt !!!!

Vogue Paris announced on Friday that Emmanuelle Alt will take over Carine Roitfeld's position as editor-in-chief starting February 1st.
We can't say we're completely surprised.
Alt has worked at the mag for the past 10 years as Fashion Director, so it makes sense.
Congrats and good luck to you BB.

Baby Model... Not so Chic

Talk about kids growing up too fast.
Vogue Paris Cadeaux is featuring some very young models all dressed up in their December/January issue.
The little girls, Thylane, Lea, and Prune were styled by Melanie Huynh and photographed by Sharif Hamza.
Even though her name isn't in the credits, outgoing EIC Carine Roitfeld's fingerprints are all over this one.
But clearly, putting couture on 6 year-old girls is not the best way to showcase the designs, nor, we imagine, does it induce anything in the viewer but horror and revulsion. We're trying to picture the distaff version of this and we simply can't do it.

One day : 2 big news : Was Carine Roitfeld fired ? Is Viginie Mouzat about to become the new Editor in chief of French Vogue ... ?

Rumor Number 1 : Was Carine Roitfeld Fired From Vogue?
Rumor Number 2 : Is Le Figaro's Fashion Director Virginie Mouzat Front runner for the Job??

Paris fashion world is going crazy... fashionistas are boycotting the famous Avenue Montaigne and are turning themselves into "fat-shionistas" because of the post-news depression ...
Carines is gone ... long gone ...
Ok Ladies , wipe your little eyes and expect a brand new day for french Fashion ! One Name : Virginie Mouzat ... This is the number one rumor lately and we must admit that we first didn't think about her for the position , but after all it would kinda make sense and we approve of Virginie for the position!
The Shocking thing about Carine leaving (erm erm , or being forced to leave) is that "No one knew about it—not even Emmanuelle Alt or Olivier Lalanne"... Weird ...

The reason no one knew? Because, according to our sources, Roitfeld did not resign—she was fired.

The chain of events that led up to the alleged firing, this way:
It appears that the Conde Nast-Carine Roitfeld fall-out was a long time coming. Our sources tell us the magazine's parent company was unhappy with all the bad press surrounding Roitfeld's alleged pay-for-play scandals—this year, alone—demanding huge sums of money for extracurricular consulting gigs and the enormous, public embarrassment of being banned from Balenciaga last season for abusing her position at Vogue. In the latter case, Roitfeld allegedly borrowed Balenciaga preview pieces and sent them to her client, Max Mara, to copy—"It wasn't the first time," one source tells us. "One [Balenciaga] precollection ended up, in its entirety, at Max Mara."

What do you think ?
and above all what do you think about Carine's successor? We kind of were expecting Emmanuelle Alt to take over the position ... a bit disappointed

10 years and then she goes... Carine Roitfled leaves Vogue Paris and will be missed...

10 years at Vogue Paris... 10 years during which we grew up with Carine Roitfeld...
10 years of fasion tips , 10 years of creating fashion, crating a style , a unique style ...
Carine Roitfeld took the sad decision to leave and go for some brand new adventures...
We can't really picture anyone else but the french godess of fashion to run the magazine...
If we had a guess, we'd say Anastasia Barbieri...
So sad ...
Only one thing to do: from now on read Nippon Vogue and trust Anna dello Russo
